Welcome

When on a Summer’s Morn by William Henry Davies

When on a summer’s morn I wake,
And open my two eyes,
Out to the clear, born-singing rills
My bird-like spirit flies.

To hear the Blackbird, Cuckoo, Thrush,
Or any bird in song;
And common leaves that hum all day
Without a throat or tongue.

And when Time strikes the hour for sleep,
Back in my room alone,
My heart has many a sweet bird’s song –
And one that’s all my own.

Welcome to Summer at Novalis Institute!  Before we completely lose ourselves to the intoxication of warmth and sunlight, we invite you to join us for some time of community, reflection and inner development.  Our core faculty teacher, Linda Bergh is once again offering a week long June Biography class.  This class continues to be the foundation for inner development and a transforming process for all who participate.  This week is a condensed offering to facilitate more participation.  Please join us!

Along with the Twin Cities Branch of the Anthroposophical Society, Novalis is co-sponsoring a free community evening in celebration of the Solstice and St. John’s Day on Monday, June 21st.  There will be music, games, summer treats and an evening fire.  Bring your families – all are welcome!  You will find the details on our Classes page under “Other Community Opportunities.”

ABOUT US

Novalis Institute provides adult education for personal inner development within a supportive community. Courses are designed to provide a strong foundation in inner work as a basis for our work in the world, ongoing training in the arts, and the education of young people. The philosophical basis of Novalis Institute are the teachings of Rudolf Steiner, the founder of anthroposophy.

Our curriculum is provided by local and national faculty who provide a program of study that balances experiential learning, artistic practice, intellectual and spiritual development and academic study. Our intention is to enhance the educational experience through the vital context of a community that is developed as participants learn together.

All courses are designed to facilitate inner development and are open to the public. For participants who seek Waldorf teacher certification, Novalis Institute offers all the courses typically required as preparation for teacher training coursework. The Foundation Studies program coursework can be completed in two to three years of part time study.
